BUT :rolleyes: I am going for [color=purple]Sharktooth's Insane profile[/color] and his custom video matrix giving [b]TRANSPARENT QUALITY @ 1350 kbps[/b] ... Amazing Isnt it! [color=gray]But it takes time like hell .... @ least 18hrs on a P4 3.0 GHZ! :( Imagine![/color] For[color=orange] XviD u need @ least to go for 2000+ kbps[/color].. for transparency .. So [color=red]x264[/color] is gd ofcourse..

So.. [size=7]Our Future Releases will be x264.VoRbis.MatRoska.[/size] giving insane quality.. like the [b]Original DVD[/b] .. and only [size=7]NhaNc3[/size] will be the first group to do it! (may be) :D

Talking about audio .. [i]We'll stick to VoRbis[/i] .. unless someone proves that another codec is better than [color=red]VoRbis[/color]! :P

Talking about hardware compatibility!

Yes x264 (AVC) will be [i]SAP affliated[/i] ! but with AAC audio and MP4 Container! You can already play AVC files on SONY PSP , XBOX 360 :)

But not on DivX Players! :nono: You've to stick to XviD which is far better than DivX. But MP4 can also be played in Nokia mobiles (new one's) i.e. because companies (especially nero) are promoting their codecs Nero HE-AAC(which is NOT as good as VoRbis), Nero AVC (which is NOT as good as x264)and MP4(which is NOT as good as MKV). :blush:

I'm with Megabyte on this one. I watch movies on my computer, but I'd much rather watch them on my t.v.. That way, others can watch it, too. From what I read on doom-9 and what you said above, I'm assumming that x264 and nero HE-AAC and AVC are not compatible.

I didn't find a way to convert x264 to xvid as Megabyte mentioned, but even so, the dvd for my t.v. will only play mpeg 1 and some mpeg 2 dvd's. It will only play mp3 cds, I don't know why.

So, I guess, until they come up with convertion programs, and somebody will, I'll just have to stick with the tried and true. A shame really, cause x264 could be a great codex.

Well No problem if you've TV-Out on your graphics card . thats what we do.. Multiple Display .. 1 on the monitor 2nd on the Tv.. I watch on computer and my friends on TV! That too WHAT I WANT! x264, Vorbis, ASS (Advanced Substation Alpha.. otherwise ppl might have thought i am writing something else :thumbsup: )subtitles!

nero HE-AAC has FULL Hardware support! :) and Nero AVC and MP4! Future Hardware [b]Mpeg-4 part-10[/b] players which will eventually replace DivX players :innocent:

I think your hardware player is very old.. playing mpeg-1 (VCD) , mpeg-2(DVD) , mp3! Get a new one.. No wait .. till u get mp4 support (with what i've written above)

x264 can easily be converted to XviD .. There arent any programs yet.. But i can do it anyways! :computer:

x264 is FUTURE.. As all I can tell you!

1 more thing which i forget to tell.. I am waiting for [b]XviD 2.0![/b] Which may support AVC .. XviD AVC! Will be almost like x264! :blush:

H264 is indeed a great video compression format, and x264 is a pretty good implementation.

Matroska is indeed a great container format, and is becoming more supported all the time.

Vorbis is indeed a great audio compression format, and does a fine job of encoding high quality audio in small files.

But, pulling everything out of an MKV container, re-encoding the video to DivX and the audio to MP3, and then putting it all back together into an AVI so that standalone players can cope with it? Now that's a right pain in the ar5e :o(

You can already see H264 (Nero Digital AVC) Support! U've already seen Vorbis support (in IPODS and other players etc)

It wont be long when you get all these AND MKV in a single Hardware!

So we are just waiting for that!
